A big day

Non molto tempo fa, una persona a me molto cara ha confidato che presto sarebbe arrivato il giorno del suo grande sì.

Una notizia meravigliosa, di quelle che riempie il cuore e fa sorridere sia gli occhi che lo spirito.

Ma poi inesorabile arriva il dubbio che assale quasi tutti gli invitati -specialmente quelli di sesso femminile- : cosa mi metto?

E allora l’immaginazione inizia a volare lontano tra il: sarà una bella giornata?! Sarà un matrimonio super chic o più easy?! Sera…mattina… lungo…corto…

La lista dei dubbi diviene inesorabilmente più lunga e quella delle idee si accorcia sempre più.

Ma a volte capita di sapere esattamente come debba essere il look, l’impresa diviene allora trovare il luogo giusto dove poter scoprire l’abito  e gli accessori della nostra fantasia.

Per cui visto che oggi è quel grande giorno a cui sono onorata di partecipare, i miei sono consigli per alleggerire quella parte frivola ( ma decisamente problematica) che accompagna ogni grande evento. Il problema del look più adatto per l’invitato.

Per quanto mi riguarda volevo un abito lungo, di quelli che sfiorano a terra e ci danno una buona ragione per sentirci al top per un giorno (solo a me fanno impazzire i vestiti lunghi?).  Il desiderio era che fosse colorato e impalpabile, veli che affievoliscono l’afa estiva di una mattina di metà Agosto.

Che non c’è cosa migliore del sentirsi bene con l’abito giusto, vivendo con spensieratezza il grande giorno di persone care… che poi alla fine è un grande giorno anche per noi.

Not a long time ago, a very dear person told me that soon would come the day of his big yes.

A wonderful news, the one that fills your heart and makes you smile both the eyes and the spirit.

But then comes the inevitable question that assails almost all the guests – especially the woman kind-: What shall I wear?

And then your imagination starts to fly away: it will be a sunny day ?! It will be a super chic wedding or more easy ?! Evening … morning … long dress… short dress…

The list of questions becomes inexorably longer and one of the ideas becomes more and more shorter.

But sometimes you know exactly how the look should be and  the challenge becomes to find the right place where to find dresses and accessories of our imagination.
Considering that today is the big day of which I am honored to be a part of, my advice is to lighten that frivolous part  (but decidedly problematic) that accompanies every big event. The problem of the most appropriate look for the guest.

About me, I wanted a long dress, those that reach to the ground and give us a good reason to feel at the top for a day (it happen only to me to be mad for long dresses?). The desire was that it was colorful and impalpable, perfect to fight the heat of a summer morning of mid-August.
