As someone who has called this city home for most of my life, I am often asked where to find the best food, the most authentic local experiences and the restaurants truly worth trying.
This guide brings together my favourite places to eat in Tivoli.
Restaurants, pizzerias, gelato shops, cafés and hidden gems that I have personally visited and enjoyed. Every recommendation comes from first-hand experience as a local, not from online reviews or second-hand suggestions.

Now, let’s get to the most delicious part of your visit: where to eat in Tivoli.
GLAM:
GLAM is a vibrant all-day venue located in the heart of Tivoli, in Piazza Garibaldi, just a short walk from Villa d’Este.
I should mention that I am a little biased when it comes to this place.
It is a project I have seen grow from an idea into a successful reality, and my partner Luca is one of the owners as well as the master gelato maker.
That said, what I genuinely appreciate about GLAM is its ambition to offer something different to the city: a welcoming and contemporary space that combines quality food, creativity and flexibility throughout the day.
Whether you are stopping by for breakfast, lunch, an aperitivo, dinner or simply a sweet treat, you will find a wide range of options, including Pinsa Romana, poke bowls, burgers, homemade pasta dishes and artisan gelato.
Speaking of gelato, it is undoubtedly one of the highlights. It has received recognition from Gambero Rosso, and many visitors have told me it was among the best gelato they tasted during their travels in Italy.
Gluten-free and vegan options are also available, making it a great choice for a variety of dietary needs.

Piccolo GLAM
Piccolo GLAM is located in one of the most charming corners of Tivoli’s historic centre, just 300 metres from Villa d’Este and approximately 250 metres from Villa Gregoriana.
Opened in June 2025, Piccolo GLAM was created following the success of the original GLAM venue, bringing the same passion for quality food and hospitality to one of the most picturesque locations in the city.
Set within a picturesque medieval square and housed inside a 16th-century palace, the venue offers a truly unique atmosphere, where centuries of history blend with contemporary hospitality. Surrounded by architectural elements dating back to Ancient Rome, it is undoubtedly one of the most scenic settings in Tivoli.
The outdoor seating area is particularly delightful, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed lunch, an aperitivo or a leisurely dinner while soaking up the atmosphere of the old town.
Among the highlights are the beautifully presented aperitivo platters, the popular Roman pinsa tasting trio, fresh and generous salads, colourful poke bowls, gourmet burgers and authentic Roman-style pizza.
No visit would be complete without trying the artisan gelato created by Luca Veralli, recognised by Gambero Rossoand considered by many visitors to be one of the finest gelato experiences in the area.

La Fornarina Restaurant:
if you are looking for a restaurant that agrees with everyone, this is the right place. From pizza to first and second courses, everything is delicious. Located in one of the historic squares of the city, you will feel like you are in Trastevere.
- Ape 50: street food restaurant that has become famous for its offering of artisanal fried foods (the supplì and Ascoli olives are absolutely recommended). It has recently changed management and the design has been carefully renovated. The watchword is craftsmanship!
- La Sibilla Restaurant: an incredible location at the foot of a temple of Ancient Rome. Refined environment that tells the story of centuries of activity. The oldest wisteria in Europe creates the perfect setting for a spring lunch.
- Il Ciocco Restaurant: a terrace overlooking Villa Gregoriana. With a moment you are catapulted into a fairytale dimension between incredible views and scenarios carved into the rock. When I’m here I love to enjoy a good wood-fired pizza.
- Osteria La Briciola: out of town but a real sensory experience. Honestly it is one of the best cuisines I have ever tried. Don’t forget the desserts, they are sublime!
- Alfredo alla Scaletta Restaurant: historic restaurant in the city in the style of the Roman taverns of Trastevere. Home-made cuisine not to be missed: fresh tagliolini with cheese and pepper, baked potatoes, straw and hay pasta and chicory with anchovies.
Pubs, wine bars & sandwich shops:
- Enoteca Gadì: if you are looking for a place for an aperitif, this is the right place. A winery among the richest in Lazio. It is the place where I often meet with my friends to taste a good glass in the company of a platter of local products.
- Black Sheep Tivoli Pub: the perfect address if you want to share a good beer and a sandwich with friends. A pub overlooking one of the most beautiful views in town with a really super friendly staff.
- Pub Public House: a corner of Scotland in Tivoli, the perfect winter retreat.
- Paninoteca da Pippo: a real institution in the city. If it is the most famous sandwich shop in Lazio there is a reason: the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. Rustic and folkloric atmosphere, with the atmosphere of beautiful and good things that are lost over time, it is a take away. My favorite is the Sfizioso!
