13 Fairy tale in Rome - Coppedè

Un luogo tra fantasia e realtà,  che probabilmente se vi dicessi che si trova a Roma sarebbero in pochi a credermi.

Come in una lussuosa casa, l’ingresso è trionfale e marcato da un importante lampadario.

Questo spazio che sembra uscito da una fiaba è il quartiere Coppedè (dal nome dell’architetto progettista) e si trova a Roma -giuro, non ho fotografato un libro di favole-.

Venne realizzato agli inizi del 1900 ed è simile soltanto a se stesso, non c’è nulla che ci si avvicini stilisticamente.

Un tripudio di soluzioni architettoniche, dal gotico al barocco, uno stile che viene definito liberty, ma giusto per dargli una categorizzazione in qualche modo.

La Fontana delle Rane, il Palazzo del Ragno e i villini delle fate… nomi che sembrano usciti da un libro di Harry Potter o da una favola Disney.

Ed essendo io cresciuta proprio con ciò, non posso che rimanerne affascinata.

La magia di quegli artefici che lasciano sognare e nascondono leggende, da una raffigurazione del Santo Graal a suggestioni massoniche e templari.

Un pomeriggio di Ottobre che sa di magia e non potrei che esser contenta di condividerlo.

 

A place between fantasy and reality, that probably if I told you that it is in Rome, only few ones believe me.

As a luxury house, the entrance is marked by a triumphal arch and with an important chandelier.

This space that seems straight out of a fairy tale is the Coppedè neighborhood (from the name of the architect) and is located in Rome –I swear, it is not a book of fairy tale-.

It was built in the early 1900s and it is similar only to itself, there is nothing that comes close stylistically.

A lot of architectural solutions, from the Gothic to the Baroque, a style that is defined liberty, but just to give him a categorization in some way.

The Fountain of the Frogs, the builiding of the spider and villas of the fairies … names that seem to come from a Harry Potter book or a Disney fairy tale.

And since I grew up with just that, I can only be fascinated by this.

The magic of those things that make you dreaming and hidden legends, from a representation of the Holy Grail to Masonic and Knights Templar suggestions .

One afternoon in October that taste of magic and I could not but be glad to share it.
