Two days in Barcellona with PayPal and Vanity Fair. ⋆ Diana De Lorenzi

L’ultima settimana di un 2015 ricchissimo.

Voglio salutarlo e ringraziarlo con le foto realizzate qualche giorno fa a Barcellona, per un progetto speciale.

Se avete avuto modo di sbirciare sui miei social avrete letto che sono stata scelta da Vanity Fair per far da ambasciatrice ad il lancio di un’innovazione del servizio PayPal. Si parla della Travel Protection e di un modo per viaggiare ancor più sicuri, ma se volete scoprire il resto, vi lascio i link agli articoli che ho redatto per Vanity Fair.

A cavallo con il ponte dell’8 Dicembre ho avuto modo di testare il servizio in prima persona.

Nel giro di un giorno ho prenotato con PayPal, per me ed il mio lui, hotel e volo da eDreams; in qualche ora ero nella città di Gaudì, uno dei miei architetti preferiti. Le sue opere mi hanno da sempre trasportata con l’immaginazione in un mondo incantato e vederle dal vivo è stato ancor più emozionante di come immaginavo.

Ma inizio dal principio. Come postazione per muoverci meglio abbiamo optato per il quartiere del Barrio Gótico, nel centro della città vecchia, a metà tra il mare e la Rambla. I suoi stretti vicoli di sera divengo un cuore pulsante pieno di locali, c’è veramente l’imbarazzo della scelta.

Riding with the bridge on 8 December, I was able to test the service first.
Within a day I booked through PayPal, for me and my him, hotel and flight from eDreams; in a few hours I was in the city of Gaudi, one of my favorite architects. His works have always carried with me the imagination in a magical world and see them live was even more exciting as I imagined.
But starting from the beginning. We opted for the district of the Gothic Quarter, in the old city center, halfway between the sea and the Rambla. The narrow streets in the evening become a heart full of clubs, there really are spoiled for choice.

Il nostro mini tour inizia la domenica mattina con una colazione speciale: ci fermiamo lungo La Rambla attratti dalle vetrine di un negozio ricoperto da tantissime piastrelline colorate. Escribà è certamente una delle pasticcerie più antiche (1906) e prestigiose della città. Una tappa per un dolcetto in buona compagnia è stra consigliata.

Qualche metro più avanti, proseguendo dal mare verso il centro città, incontriamo il Mercato Boqueria, lo storico angolo di Barcellona in cui gustare i sapori locali. Ma purtroppo era chiuso, per cui sarà tappa per una meta futura.

Proseguiamo dritti, camminando nel grande vialone della Rambla, tra artisti di strada, chioschi con oggetti di ogni forma e colore e il rumore di sottofondo della spensieratezza del giorno di festa.

Tra le strade della città un tappetto di foglie gialle colpisce la mia attenzione, una coperta autunnale, perfetta per qualche scatto. Ho così modo di presentarvi ufficialmente la mia borsa personalizzata di Piero Guidi.

Il famoso brand italiano ha lanciato una linea (la Bold) che permette di imprimere il proprio volto sull’etichetta metallica della borsa. Uno splendido modo per sentir ancor più personali i nostri oggetti del cuore. L’ho amata dal primo momento.

Our mini tour starts on Sunday morning with a special breakfast: we stop along La Rambla attracted by the shop windows covered with many small tiles colored. Escribà is certainly one of the oldest bakeries (1906) and prestigious landmarks. A stage for a cake in good company is strategic recommended.

A few meters further, going from the sea to the city center, we find the Boqueria Market, the historic part of Barcelona where you can taste the local flavors. But unfortunately it was closed, so it will be stage for a future goal.

We continue straight ahead, walking in the great boulevard of La Rambla, between street performers, stalls with objects of all shapes and colors and the background noise of the carefree days of celebration.

Among the city streets a carpet of yellow leaves affects my attention, a blanket of autumn, perfect for some shots. I had the chance to officially introduce my bag by Piero Guidi.

The famous Italian brand has launched a line (the Bold) that allows you to give your face on the metallic label of the bag. A wonderful way to feel even more personal objects of our heart. I loved her from the first moment.

E poi si prosegue, passata la maestosa Piazza Catalogna ci troviamo davanti a Casa Batllò. Inizia così la nostra scoperta delle opere di Gaudì.

Se l’esterno sa colpire con la sua facciata tra scheletri, fiori e manti di drago, l’interno lascia a bocca aperta.

L’entrata non è economica ( circa 21 euro) ma ne vale assolutamente la pena. Tramite la guida che viene fornita è possibile puntare sulla zona della casa che stiamo ammirando e vedere la ricostruzione di quando la casa era abitata dalla Famiglia Battlò. Gaudì ne aveva progettato anche il mobilio.

And then it goes on, past the majestic Piazza Catalonia we are faced with Casa Batllo. Thus began our discovery of the works of Gaudi.

If the outside knows hit with its facade of skeletons, flowers and mantles of dragon, the interior is astonishing.

The entrance is not cheap (about 21 euro) but definitely worth the effort. Through the guidance that is provided you can focus on the area of the house that you are admiring and see the reconstruction of when the house was inhabited by the Family Battlò. Gaudi had also designed the furniture.

Una pausa per mangiare tapas e la meta successiva è stata la Sagrada Familia.

Il senso di maestosità e grandezza sovraumana è la prima cosa che colpisce direttamente agli occhi e cuore.

Ma purtroppo i biglietti per la giornata erano già esauriti; se pensate di visitarla vi consiglio di comprarli online. Così abbiam fatto per il giorno successivo.

Cala il sole e le luci del primo giorno a Barcellona si spengono. Una passeggiata tra le vie del quartiere gotico con i comodissimi stivaletti di Be Only e la cena da Viana, un piccolo locale che vale assolutamente l’attesa. Sangria di una bontà indescrivibile, la cena con petali di rosa ed un personale super gentile.

A break to eat tapas and the next stop was the Sagrada Familia.

The sense of majesty and greatness superhuman is the first thing that strikes directly in the eyes and heart.

But unfortunately the tickets were already sold out for the day; if you plan to visit I recommend you, buy them online. So we have done for the next day.

The sun goes down and the lights of the first day in Barcelona go out. A walk through the streets of the Gothic Quarter with comfortable boots Be Only and dinner from Viana, a small restaurant that is absolutely worth the wait. Sangria goodness indescribable, dinner with rose petals and a super friendly staff.

Il nostro secondo ed ultimo giorno l’abbiamo trascorso a correre da una parte all’altra della città.

La mattina del lunedì abbiamo appreso che anche la parte architettonica del Parc Guell aveva terminato la disponibilità di biglietti e che il primo disponibile sarebbe stato per le 16.30.

Per cui di corsa, pur di non rinunciare ad aver il nostro pezzo di bellezza, ci siamo spostati nuovamente verso la Sagrada Familia per visitarne l’intero.

Devo ammettere che entrando mi sono emozionata, perfezione in ogni più piccolo particolare ed un senso di immensità che gli occhi non sanno elaborare con un solo sguardo.

Our second and last day we spent running from one side of the city to the other.

Monday morning we learned that the architectural part of the Parc Guell had finished the availability of tickets and that the first would be available for 16.30.

So run, rather than give to have our piece of beauty, we moved back to the Sagrada Familia to still visit the whole.

I must admit that I was excited coming, perfection in every small detail and a sense of immensity that the eyes do not know how to process at a glance.
