Benvenuti in un magico mondo invernale.
Questa è stata la prima sensazione che ho avuto quando sono arrivata a Losanna, qualche giorno fa.
“Quel ramo del lago… Lemano” ( o di Ginevra ) che avevo avuto modo di sbirciare nel precedente tour svizzero (QUI), purtroppo senza averlo vissuto davvero.
Ma a volte i desideri divengono realtà, e così quel momento tanto atteso si è concretizzato in un frizzante weekend di fine Novembre.
E’ veramente incredibile come nel corso di un anno la mia vita mi abbia portata da un capo all’altro del mondo, solo 365 giorni fa ero a godermi il caldo sole in California; oggi invece vi parlo di un mondo natalizio fatto di mille lucine e casette color pastello.
Per arrivare a Losanna lo spostamento più immediato è da Milano attraverso i treni dello Swiss Travel System in circa 3 ore e mezzo.
Se partiste da altre città italiane è possibile muoversi tramite una freccia fino a Milano e poi optare per un treno svizzero.
Selezionare uno spostamento via terra è più comodo in questo caso, l’aeroporto più vicino è quello di Ginevra.
Dettaglio utilissimo: in ogni hotel in cui deciderete di sostare vi verrà fornita gratuitamente la Transport Card per muovervi liberamente in città.
Welcome to a winter wonderland.
This was the first feeling I had when I arrived in Lausanne, a few days ago.
“One arm of Lake Geneva …” (or Geneva) that I got to peek in the previous Swiss tour, but without having really lived.
But sometimes wishes come true, and so the long-awaited moment has been reflected in a cold weekend in late November.
It ‘s really amazing how over a year my life has led me from one end of the world, only 365 days ago I was enojoying the warm sun in California; but today I speak of a world of a thousand Christmas lights and pastel-colored houses.
To get to Lausanne the most immediate shift is from Milan via the Swiss Travel System train in about 3 hours and a half.
If you left by other Italian cities you can move through an arrow up to Milan and then opt for a Swiss train.
Choosing for a train is more comfortable in this case, the nearest airport is in Geneva.
A useful detail: in every hotel you decide to stop it will be provided a Transport Card to move freely in the town.
Non posso che consigliarvi l‘Hotel Royal Savoy, comodissimo a livello di collegamenti e non solo.
Si trova a pochi metri dalla fermata della metropolitana di Delices e ad qualche metro in più rispetto alla stazione centrale ( Lausanne Gare).
Un hotel che sembra esser uscito fuori da un film Disney, appena rinnovato è assolutamente confortevole e con ogni tipo di comodità. Avevo a disposizione anche un Ipad accanto al letto, un ristorante stellato, una spa e perfino una sala dove scegliere il proprio sigaro ed assaporarlo in totale relax.
In ogni caso le offerte a Losanna sono molteplici e QUI vi lascio una lista di hotel convenzionati con l’ente del turismo pere avere sconti notevoli nelle notti del 14,16,21 e 23 dicembre in occasione della Notte delle Stelle.
Where to stay in Lausanne?
I can only recommend the Hotel Royal Savoy, very comfortable for a lot of reason.
It is a few meters from the metro Delices and few meters more than the central station ( Lausanne Gare).
A hotel that seems to have gone out of a Disney movie, just renewed is absolutely comfortable and with every type of comfort. It is also a Ipad beside the bed, a starred Michelin restaurant, a spa and even a room where you choose your own cigar and savor it while relaxing.
In any case, the offers in ‘Lausanne are manifold and HERE I leave you with a list of partner hotels that in collaboration with the tourism board have substantial discounts on the nights of 14,16,21 and 23 December in the occasion of the Night of the Stars.
Cosa vedere a Losanna?Si tratta di una città assolutamente a misura d’uomo, è possibile girarla in lungo e largo senza mai perdersi o dover guardare la cartina.
La metropolitana totalmente automatizzata, vi porterà ovunque, se decideste di non voler camminar lungamente.
E’ una linea retta che taglia la città a partire dalla zona collinare fin ad arrivare alle sponde del lago.
Una città totalmente sicura, anche in notturna per tre ragazze in solitaria ( come eravamo noi), e piena di bambini che con i loro cappottini colorati sfrecciano da una bancarella all’altra nei mercatini di Natale.
Una visita d’obbligo è quella alla Cattedrale Notre Dame della città, situata in una zona panoramica da cui avrete una meravigliosa visuale sulla città.
Un “piccolo” capolavoro di architettura gotica che contiene al suo interno uno degli organi più grandi al mondo.
Altra tappa che merita una visita è il Museo Olimpico, una vera chicca per gli appassionati di sport, interamente dedicato alla storia dei giochi olimpici antichi e moderni.
Perfetto anche per i più piccoli perchè è super interattivo.
Per il resto il mio consiglio è quello di perdervi, lasciate la bussola a casa, e godetevi totalmente l’atmosfera.
Un bicchiere di vino caldo nei mercatini natalizi a centro città, un giro nella piazza centrale dove c’è il municipio ( in Place de La Palude ) in cui si è sposato David Bowie o un orologio magico che allo scoccare di ogni ora racconta una bellissima storia.
Camminate seguendo le lucine luminose, scoprirete bellissime installazioni che in questi giorni regnano in città.
Arrivate fino al Flon, il quartiere dei giovani e dei locali notturni.
Proseguite fino al lago dove lo splendore massimo si manifesterà davanti agli occhi al tramonto.
What to see in Lausanne?
It is absolutely a city on a human scale, you can turn it far and wide without ever getting lost or having to look at the map.
The subway, fully automatic, will take you anywhere, if you decide not to have long walks.
It ‘a straight line that cuts through the city from the hilly area until reaching the shores of the lake.
A city totally safe, even at night for three solo girls (as we were), and full of children with their colorful coats whizzing from one stall to another one in the Christmas markets.
A must visit is to the Notre Dame Cathedral in the city, located in a scenic area where you will have a fantastic view over the city.
A “small” masterpiece of Gothic architecture that contains within it one of the largest organs in the world.
Another stop worth a visit is the Olympic Museum, the best for sports fans, entirely dedicated to the history of ancient and modern Olympic Games.
Also perfect for children because it is really interactive.
For the rest, my advice is to get lost, let the compass at home, and enjoy the atmosphere.
A glass of mulled wine at the Christmas markets in the city center, around the main square where there is the Town Hall (Place de La Palude) where David Bowie got married or a magic watch that at the stroke of every hour tells a beautiful story.
Walk following the bright lights, you will discover beautiful installations that reigns in these days in the city.
Arrive until the Flon, a district of young people and perfect for nightlife.
Continue to the lake where the peak will occur before your eyes at sunset.
Swans, and many seagulls flying slowly. The weather here has a different rhythm, dictated by the sky and the sailing boats that run often wrote of the calm waves of a lake that smells of the sea.

Sabato mattina e un treno che ci aspetta. Con un quarto d’ora sulle rotaie ci troviamo catapultate nel mondo dei vigneti del Lauvaux, zona patrimonio UNESCO. Nello specifico ci fermiamo per una degustazione di vini nel piccolo villaggio di Granvaux.
Un paesaggio incredibile che guarda al lago, peccato aver beccato la più grigia delle giornate, ma con un calice di bianco speciale tutto diventa più colorato. La degustazione al Domaine Croix-Duplex è stato uno di quei momenti surreali di pace e tranquillità da tener stretti per i periodi super stressanti.

Saturday morning and a train ahead. With a quarter of an hour on the rails we are catapulted into the world of the vineyards of Lauvaux, UNESCO heritage area. Specifically, we stop for a wine tasting in the small village of Granvaux.
An incredible landscape that looks to the lake, shame to have caught a gray day, but with a special white cup, everything becomes more colorful. The tasting at the Domaine Croix Duplex-was one of those surreal moments of peace and quiet to take tight for super stressful periods.
Qualche passo più avanti e con qualche calice di vino in più nello stomaco è ora di pranzo.
Arrivati al Auberge de la Gare l’atmosfera è quella di un piccolo cosmo curato in tutti i dettagli. Sapete quelle perle che solo i piccoli paesini sanno offrire?! Ecco.

Si torna in città, ad aspettarci un sabato pomeriggio alla scoperta del Festival Lausanne Lumières. In giro per la città troverete bellissime installazioni luminose.
E’ incredibile come i popoli nordici curino lo spazio pubblico come fosse naturale estensione della propria casa.
Le piazze divengono salotti dove incontrarsi e le vie i corridoi.
La cena è speciale, in un locale appena rinnovato… La Brasserie de Montbenon che in passato ospitava una sala da ballo.

Back in the city, waiting for a Saturday afternoon to discover the Festival Lausanne Lumières. Around the city you will find beautiful light installations.
It ‘amazing how the Nordic peoples look after the public space as if they are a natural extension of their own home.
The squares become living rooms to meet and the ways the hallways.
Dinner is special, in a newly renovated restaurant … La Brasserie de Montbenon housed a ballroom.
